The Flower Studies is an art print of an original painting(oil on canvas) by the painter Abbott Handerson Thayer, 1886.
He was an American artist, naturalist and teacher. Abbott Handerson Thayer grew up surrounded by nature and for the rest of his life sought refuge in rural places and fresh air. Even though he was part of the New York art scene in the 1880s, he lived with his family outside of the city in several towns along the Hudson River.
This study of water- and trumpet lilies, with its bright colors and quick brushstrokes, shows his method of working out the details of the flowers before placing them in a final composition.
